April 15, 2016The Villa, Casa Casuarina is now home to a new Italian Mediterreanean culinary concept, Gianni's at The Villa. Executive Chef Thomas Stewart has crafted a menu that pays homage to its Mediterranean influence. Located inside of the 3-story, 10 suite luxury boutique hotel, what used to be the Versace Mansion is now a premier getaway destination for the rich and famous. Enter The Villa, Casa Casuarina and become enchanted by its elegant patio overlooking the Mosaic Garden. For pre or post-dinner cocktails in an intimate atmosphere, The Villa features the renovated Onyx bar, formerly Versace’s kitchen, accented by a hand painted medusa ceiling, similar to that of Gianni's main dining room.
The former Versace Mansion, now named The Villa, Casa Casuarina is a lavish 10-suite boutique hotel that looks like something out of a story book. Owned and operated by Victor Hotels, The Villa introduced a new Italian Mediterranean fine dining restaurant, Gianni’s at The Villa, Casa Casuarina. Within this new concept, diners are transported to an elegant oasis accompanied by world-class cuisine by Executive Chef Thomas Stewart.
In collaboration with The Restaurant at Setai’s Executive Chef Mathias Gervais, Stewart has introduced a modern Italian Mediterranean menu as he spearheads the culinary team at Gianni’s. Stewart holds over 16 years of culinary and hospitality experience under his belt and is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Program at the International Culinary Academy.
Chauncey Copeland, General Manager of The Villa, Casa Casuarina, promises mouthwatering savory dishes and personal service that provides a memorable South Beach experience. The idea is to transport guests back in time to the lifestyle of the hotel when it was Gianni Versace’s private home. “By again opening up the property to locals who are looking for the perfect restaurant we will successfully energize Ocean Drive,” says Chauncey.
Honoring its Mediterranean influence, Gianni’s features signature dishes including Maine Scallops a la plancha ($32) with fennel puree, frisee and Gianni Vanilla Oil.
Indulge in fresh Poached Maine Lobster ($36) with olives, green pea foam and Spring onion gel.
Gianni’s Whole Grilled Branzino (Market Price) is a generous portion that can easily be shared between two people. It comes dressed with Bayaldi vegetable, tomato confit and lemon.
For dessert, Gianni’s version of Strawberry Shortcake is a must try. The pastry is light, fluffy and perfectly sweet. It is topped with fresh berries and makes for the perfect ending to your glamorous Miami evening at The Villa.
Gianni’s at The Villa, Casa Casuarina is located at 1116 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139. They are open for dinner Tuesday - Sunday starting at 7PM. Lunch service is available by appointment only. Click here to make a reservation.
