Give in to Temptation!
Digest Miami and Eden South Beach joined together to host our Pink Benefit Dinner in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Chef Duryae presented a sumptuous five course prix-fixe menu with wine pairings. Guests also enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail reception with delicious with “pink” cocktails courtesy of Stoli Vodka. We also were able to curate a wonderful film of the night's affair.
Eden South Beach is conveniently located just outside the heart of South Beach, which adds to its flair. Eden is a sensuous experience of food, drink, nightlife and culture, featuring Seasonal Cuisine by renowned Chef Christopher Lee. With one-of-a-kind settings, featuring the candle lit “Garden of Eden,” an intimate outdoor lounge and an airy dining room with an open-theater kitchen; Eden South Beach has the perfect combination to see and be seen.
As guests arrived they were welcomed with Stoliichnaya Vodka's "Think Pink" Razberry Caipiroska. This drink is made of 4 parts Stoli, 1 part simple syrup, club soda, and muddled raspberries for pink color and garnish.
For the first course, suitably name "temptations, we enjoyed a Peach Salad with red onion, pickled radish, and a champagne vinaigrette. The menu also includes savory bites like Crispy Calamari seasoned with curry and Thai sesame dressing ($13) to Heirloom Tomatoes with house made burrata cheese, pesto and aged balsamic ($12) and Grilled Spanish Octopus with green lentils, chorizo, and piquillo peppers ($14).
For the savory and decadent second course we were treated with "Mary's Meatballs" with creamy polenta. Simply said, this dish is by far the most mouth-watering dish and sure to bring the masses. Each bite seemed to melt in your mouth and invited the next. These meatballs may be on the shared menu, but they are more than worth indulging in by yourself.
Main Course dishes on the menu include Seared Yellowfin Tuna with aji amarillo, ratatouille and a warm orange vinaigrette ($32), Braised Beef Short Ribs served with a potato puree, brussel sprouts, freshly grated horseradish and a red wine sauce ($35), and Scottish Salmon with white asparagus, baby beets, and blood orange hollandaise ($26). For our third course we enjoyed an off-the-menu dish of Seared Branzino with green lentils, roasted peppers, and a chorizo emulsion. Branzino is a Mediterranean fish with a delicate flavor.
For our fourth dish we enjoyed a perfectly cooked Black Angus NY Strip. This dish is huge and definitely enough for two people to share. The meat was unbelievably moist and tender and paired with sweet corn, wilted spinach, and tomato chimichurri.
House made desserts include Eve’s First Bite, a warm apple tart topped with crème fraiche and candied ginger ($8) and Banana Chocolate Semi-freddo with strawberries and toasted walnuts ($7). After more than enough food we weren't sure if there was room for dessert, but once we were presented with a petit, warm Hot Chocolate Cake with raspberry sorbet and mint we couldn't resist.
Overall, the night was a success. Eden proved to be the perfect atmosphere for a cause that will always hold a special place in our hearts. A special thanks is owed to Chef Matt Duryae and his team for making the night so wonderful, and to Stolichnaya Vodka for the delicious cocktails. We look forward to more opportunities to host events, especially when they benefit such great causes like Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
