Out and About: Best of Miami Spice: Cibo Wine Bar South Beach
August 26, 2015Out and About: Miami Spice at BLT Prime
August 26, 2015Bulla (boo-ya), which is slang for chatter and what people are talking about, seems the perfect name for this alluring modern gastrobar. With it's warm inviting ambiance, wide selection of tapas and a cocktail menu perfect for Miami. Bulla is a lively favorite among the Coral Gables dining scene.
Enter Bulla Gastrobar on any given night of the week and be greeted by a warm atmosphere, buzzing with lively chatter as groups of friends and family imbibe on signature cocktails and Spanish tapas. This vibrant casual gathering place in Coral Gables features a massive rectangular bar with leather-bound stools. Rustic wood finishes and blue accents set an inviting and comfortable tone.
Executive Chef Diego Solano specializes in traditional Spanish cuisine but with a modern twist. Earlier this year, Bulla won Best Dish at Taste of the Gables with their Salpicon de Mariscos. We were excited to discover what Chef Solano has in store for Miami Spice. From Spanish comfort food to flavorful & healthy entrees to decadent desserts, it doesn’t have to be Miami Spice for Bulla to continue delighting guests night after night, but you would be remiss to pass up such an amazing deal.
It is a Digest Miami ritual to order the Huevos Bulla on every visit. This aromatic dish consists of house-made potato chips with potato foam and a jumbo egg served warm. It is drizzled with truffle oil and topped with rich Serrano Ham. You can smell the truffle from across the room. Let your friendly server mix these ingredients together for you and indulge in Spanish comfort food at its finest.

Next we indulged in the Mero Con Quinoa. Chef Diego sears the fresh black grouper before setting the fish atop a bed of tricolor quinoa soy salad. The fish is flaky and tender and pops with flavor when drizzled with a rich lemon caper butter sauce.

The Costilla de Res is another one of our top Miami Spice picks. Chef Solano braises the short ribs until delightfully tender. They are cooked in a red wine reduction and then served with a creamy potato foam and semi-soft tetilla cheese for added buttery flavor.
