August 20, 2015Bourbon Steak is located in the Mediterranean-style oasis that is Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura. This contemporary American steakhouse by celebrity chef Michael Mina, serves all-natural, organic and hormone free cuts of meat as well as fresh market ingredients and seasonal shellfish in a comfortable and elegant atmosphere.
South Florida’s most anticipated restaurant promotion of the year, Miami Spice, features specially priced 3-course meals through September 30th. Miami Spice brings a renewed interest in which restaurants will live up to their reputation during the two month promotion. Rest assured that Bourbon Steak at Turnberry Isle Resort, not only lives up to the expectations, but far exceeds them.
James Beard award-winning chef and renown restaurateur Michael Mina, is the man behind Bourbon Steak. A contemporary American steakhouse, Bourbon Steak offers guests the chance to indulge in Mina’s signature dishes in an opulent, yet modern setting. Mirrored walls, wood accents, buttery leather banquetters envelope you as the floor-to-ceiling wine collection surrounds you.
Executive Chef Gabriel Fenton has crafted a Miami Spice menu that truly showcases the versatility of Bourbon Steak. The Hudson Valley Foie Gras “Torchon” appetizer is a must try. The tart grapefruit and subtle notes of vanilla compliment the rich, buttery flavor of the foie gras, well worth the $15 supplement.

Another impressive appetizer is the Maine Lobster Risotto. Rice, yellow sweet corn, serrano chile and lumps of buttery Maine Lobster are combined in a creamy broth.
Bourbon Steak’s Organic Chicken Breast entree is served atop baby spinach and crispy pesto gnocchi. Delicious additions of chanterelle mushrooms add diversity in texture and flavor.

Served with jalapeño corn bread, the BBQ Glazed Angus Rib Eye is a must-try. The all-natural, organic and hormone free cut of beef was tender and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Marbled with just the right amount of fat, the flavorful steak was served with warm, whole grain potato salad.
We suggest pairing the this dish with the Sean Minor, Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. The soft tannins and sweet oak balance and long and lingering finish perfectly compliments the smokey sweetness of the BBQ glazed Rib Eye.
For dessert, we indulged in the sin-worthy Cracker Jack Sundae. Made with popcorn ice cream and drizzled with salted caramel sauce, this treat made us feel like little kids again. Topped with candied peanuts, our dessert was the sweetest ending to a superb meal.
