Miami Beach: Los Fuegos by Francis Mallmann at Feana Hotel
July 8, 2016Miami Beach: EDITION Hotel
August 16, 2016Charmingly niched at The Confidante’s lush poolside terrace, The Salty Donut has expanded with their first Miami Beach pop-up. Today (July 15th) marks the official public opening and Digest Miami was fortunate enough to get an inside look of the new sweet spot in town. A palpable sense of excitement was felt from co-owners Andy Rodriguez and Amanda Pizarro as we discussed what brought this new shop to fruition and why locals and tourists, alike, are immersed by the specially crafted confections of The Salty Donut.
Although both locations share the same concept and menu, Pizarro believes “Wynwood is more quirky and communal while here is more laid back.” Tucked away inside the 1930’s poolside cottage, the shop offers a vintage welcome to the vibrant surroundings of the beach bar, restaurant, and tourists. “We’ve been presented with many opportunities to expand in different locations around Miami, but this was the first that felt right and matched our concept and environment.” The team plans to tailor the menu slightly for their new consumers with unique iced tea and coffee beverages, along with notable alcoholic options too.
The Salty Donut is for committed donut lovers only. Though the wait in line may be just as long as the Wynwood location, those infamous sweets are well worth it. Pizarro finds the success of the shop to be “nothing too crazy or intimidating,” and continues to make “all of the donut options affordable.” The true fans and customers come back, time and time again, “in the end, they’re really good, and that’s what matters.”
The Salty Donut at The Confidante pop-up will be open Thursday through Sunday, from 8:00am until 2:00pm, starting Saturday, July 16th.
