Johnson & Wales’ College of Culinary Arts honored Miami's most accomplished culinary and beverage experts at last night’s Zest Awards. The celebration was held in the university’s Wild Cat Center kicking off with a lively reception. Notable chefs and other culinary dignitaries were welcomed with delicious bites and creative cocktails prepared and served by the students. Exquisite wines from VeritageMiami’s Best in Glass selection were also featured throughout the evening.
“This year’s nominations have helped shape Miami’s thriving for and restaurant scene, and they are all well worth recognition” says Bruce Ozga , Dean of Culinary Education at Johnson & Wales University’s North Miami Campus.
Director of Veritage Miami, Lyn Farmer, led the evening’s ceremonies which began by honoring Michelle Bernstein with the Community Leader Award. Currently the chef/owner of Crumb on Parchment and Executive Chef of Seagrape at Thompson Miami Beach,Bernstein was recognized for her many contributions to the community including Common Threads.
