Blue Moon Brewing Company recently announced an all-Florida “Artfully Garnished” campaign to highlight and support local Florida orange growers. Originally introduced in 1995, Blue Moon’s Belgian White brew was developed using a Valencia orange peel and so, a partnership with the Florida Department of Citrus makes for a natural fit. The majority of oranges grown in Florida are Valencias of which 95% are used for juice.

The new campaign brings a bevy of events throughout South Florida, including Digest Miami’s upcoming waterfront dining experience on Thursday, May 14th at 7:30PM. To be held at the new Shooters Waterfront located on the tranquil Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale, the dinner will feature five courses prepared by Chef Rolando Centonzio.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Centonzio infuses a colorful culinary background to his cuisine. Centonzio will demonstrate the diversity of Florida oranges in each pairing through a combination of distinct ingredients that embrace the zest of South Florida. Also joining the event is Meredith Zeder of Tenth & Blake. Zeder holds several years of experience as a brand development manager for South Florida’s import and craft beer market and will share her knowledge during the event.

Priced at $75 per person, including tax and gratuity, the dinner will feature 5-courses with beer pairings. The dinner arrives as the 3rd event in Digest Miami’s Bureau of Spirits series bringing together craft breweries, small batch distilleries, local artisans and our best local ingredients. The evening will begin at 7:30PM with a meet and greet overlooking the stunning waterway promptly followed by dinner at 8PM.
