June 26, 2015Azul inside the Mandarin Oriental, Miami is proud to announce the assignment of Benjamin Murray as Chef de Cuisine. Before taking the reins, Murray was the sous chef at Azul. Previously, he worked at the Fairmont in Scottsdale, Arizona, the Eliot Hotel in Boston and Miami restaurants Zuma and Area 31.
Chef Murray offers a progressive new menu of contemporary American cuisine peppered with Asian influences. Guests can enjoy a preview of the new menu during a special biodynamic wine dinner with Hawk and Horse winemaker, Mitch Hawkins, as well as a meet-and-greet with Chef Murray and Azul’s Wine Director, Todd Phillips.
Enjoy a preview of Chef Benjamin's cuisine at an upcoming biodynamic wine dinner with Hawk and Horse Vineyards from Lake County, California. The four-course dinner will feature robust flavors inspired by his childhood in California and Florida, paired with touches of Asian cuisine influenced by his Japanese mother. Enjoy the refreshing Strawberry Gazpacho with King Crab and Thai basil or the savory Peking Duck with mushroom, coffee, beet and raspberry. This special dinner will be held on Juy 16th at 7PM and is priced at $140 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity, reservations for the wine dinner are required in advance.
We can also catch a preview of Chef Murray’s culinary talents at the inaugural American Liver Foundation’s Flavors of Miami event on Tuesday, July 28th at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Chef will prepare a 5-course meal for a table of 12 guests to be paired with select wines provided by Southern Wine & Spirits. Along with a table-decor contest and a silent auction, this charity event is a unique gourmet culinary affair to benefit the ALF’s mission to facilitate, advocate, and promote education, support and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease.
