Spotlight On: Chef Jeff Pfeiffer
November 14, 2013Growing up watching his great grandmother in the kitchen, Executive Chef Peter Vauthy was born to be a chef. Inspired by what he learned from his family while incorporating his own unique perspective on the classics, Peter’s envelope pushing, culinary masterpieces come from the marriage of innovation and tradition.
After graduating in 1998 with distinction from L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Peter got a taste of things to come at the highly acclaimed Indigo Restaurant in Great Falls, VA. His career soon ignited and in 2001, Vauthy was hired to lead the team at Moxie, The Restaurant in Cleveland, which was named one of the top 50 restaurants in the country while under his culinary watch. He then went on to be named Executive Chef at Moxie’s sister restaurant the original Red, The Steakhouse.
After tremendous success in Cleveland, Peter brought his expertise to the South Florida Miami scene in 2008, opening up Red, the Steakhouse in Miami Beach and marking his return to the East Coast. Not one to return quietly, Chef Peter is turning the steakhouse business on its side and mixing things up, putting everything from bell peppers stuffed with sausage to entire 6-foot long King Crab on Red’s menu, though his steaks, sauces and sides are hard to pass up. Using only the highest quality meat in the nation – Certified Angus Beef Prime – Chef Peter takes pride in Red’s unmatched standards. His kitchen is fully stocked with the freshest ingredients in the world and calorie counting isn’t an option once you’re in the skilled hands of Chef Peter, so just indulge.
