May 14, 2012Quattro Gastronomia Italiana’s uber-talented identical twin chefs Nicola and Fabrizio Carro are rising stars on the culinary scene. From the province of Alessandria, Italy in the Piedmont region, these chefs are known for serving up authentic Northern Italian cuisine beautifully executed enough to wow even the most discerning Italian food connoisseur.
For both Nicola and Fabrizio (34), family moments always happened around the dinner table. The twins shared a passion for food at an early age when watching their mother cooking traditional family meals in the kitchen. The cuisine of the Piedmont region inspired the brothers to begin cooking some of the area’s most famous dishes at the age of 14. Upon realizing their propensity for cooking, Nicola and Fabrizio followed their taste buds to culinary school, I’Istituto Alberghiero di Acqui. While attending school, they perfected their skills under the tutelage of famed Italian chef, Gino Angelini. From there, the twins worked together in some of Italy’s foremost culinary hotspots including Restaurant Alli Due Buoi Rossi in Alessandria, Restaurant Circlo d’Equitazione in Reggio Emilia and others.
In 2005, Nicola and Fabrizio were recruited to join the team that opened Lincoln Road’s famed Quattro Gastronomia Italiana where they continue to create sophisticated dishes from Northern Italy. In 2009, KNR, the group that owns Quattro opened the more casually chic Sosta Pizzeria where the brothers focus on fresh salads and offer whimsical housemade pizzas.
Nicola has worked at many distinguished Italian Restaurantes such as; Rovinda & Signorelli Catering Co, Restaurant Circolo dÉquitazione, Restaurant Adriano. He also worked as executive chef at Restaurant La Terraza. He competed on the Food Networks’ Iron Chef show in January 2010, NBC’s Martha Stewart Show in February 2010, NBC’s The Today Show in August 2010, NBC’s South florida Today Show in December 2010 and Telemundo´s Morning Show in December 2010.
Fabrizio began working as assistant chef at Rovinda & Signorelli Catering Co. as his brother. He worked at many but different restaurants between them we can mention; Ristorante Golf Club Des Ues Borrome & Ristorante Rapanello Lake Maggiore as executive chef. Risorant Beach Boys, Gastronomy “Ipse Dixit”, Italian Military & L’Ocean Village Club, Kenya.
At the moment, Nicola & Fabrizio are in charge of Quattro Gastronomia Italiana. The brothers have created an authentic Italian restaurant and a gastronomic oasis at the heart of Miami beach.
