September 24, 2024Phuc Yea, one of Miami's standout dining spots, is turning 8 this September, and they are celebrating in style! Known for blending the dynamic flavors of Latin and Vietnamese cuisines, this beloved restaurant has planned a full month of festivities to mark their milestone. It’s been eight years of serving up creative dishes, bold flavors, and unforgettable dining experiences since they opened their doors on September 8, 2016. Phuc Yea’s journey from a humble pop-up to one of Miami’s most recognized restaurants has been driven by their passion for food and their love for the community. To mark the occasion, they’ve unveiled a brand-new menu that’s sure to wow both loyal fans and first-time visitors.
At the heart of the new menu is Phuc’s Delight, an interactive experience designed to bring people together around the table. Guests are invited to build their own perfect bite, choosing from juicy short ribs, house-made pickles, bao buns, lettuce bundles, and fresh herbs. You can even elevate the experience with the addition of PY Noodles or the indulgent Millionaire Truffled Fried Rice. This dish is all about customization and fun, making it the perfect centerpiece for group dining.
Another highlight is the Tuna Crudo, a dish that balances freshness with richness. Lightly seared yellowfin tuna is paired with a passionfruit coconut vinaigrette, bringing a sweet and tangy contrast to the fish. The dish is finished with broken scallion oil and spiced crispies, adding layers of texture and flavor. It’s the kind of dish that makes you want to savor every bite, yet you’ll find it hard to stop yourself from devouring it quickly.
Seafood lovers won’t want to miss the Crispy Fish a la Cha Ca, a Hanoi-inspired dish that packs a punch. The fish, marinated in buttermilk and fried to a golden crisp, is served alongside lettuce bundles and fresh herbage. A turmeric aioli and nuoc cham dipping sauce provide the perfect accompaniments, adding bright, tangy, and earthy notes to the dish. It’s a true celebration of Vietnamese street food flavors, reimagined with a gourmet twist.
For those seeking something a bit more indulgent, the Char Siu Roasted Cod delivers sweet and savory notes in every bite. This perfectly roasted cod is glazed with a house-made char siu sauce and served with a lemongrass nuoc cham sauce studded with bird chilies. The dish strikes a balance between comfort and complexity, making it an ideal choice for diners looking for something new and exciting.
Rounding out the menu is the Lemongrass Roasted Cornish Hen, a playful dish that pairs the richness of roasted Cornish hen with the brightness of green curry and the sweetness of white grapes. The addition of Phuc Yea’s famous cashew chili crunch brings a satisfying texture to the dish, adding a bit of spice and tang to the experience. It’s a celebration of bold flavors that truly showcases the restaurant’s creativity.
Phuc Yea’s birthday bash kicks off on September 8 with a lively Let’s Eat Cake Birthday Toast; complete with bubbles and Cindy Lou’s famous coconut cake. The fun doesn’t stop there, though. The restaurant is hosting a series of events throughout the month, including a cocktail class featuring Cristalino Tequila, a special Edition Tampa Takeover on September 19, and the highly anticipated Birthday Bash on September 27. Each Sunday will feature music, tropical vibes, and more of Phuc Yea’s legendary food as part of their Sunday Funday series.
With its eclectic, mid-century modern meets street art vibe, Phuc Yea offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience in the heart of Miami. Guests can enjoy their meals in the speakeasy-style dining room, or head to the Lantern Garden, an outdoor oasis that’s perfect for sipping on cocktails under the stars. Whether you’re there for a special event or just a regular dinner, the energy is always vibrant and fun.
As they celebrate 8 years, co-founders Ani Meinhold and Chef Cesar Zapata continue to push the boundaries of Miami’s culinary scene. Their passion for blending their Latin and Vietnamese heritages has earned Phuc Yea accolades like the Michelin Bib Gourmand award and a spot on Eater Miami’s Essential 38 list. The birthday celebration is not just a testament to their hard work but also a reflection of their love for the community. Book a reservation here.
