November 27, 202323rd Annual Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Returns
November 30, 2023Nestled in the heart of the vibrant Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Bartaco's newest location promises to be a culinary sanctuary that pays homage to the city's roots while offering a fresh take on beach-inspired street food. With 28 successful locations across 12 states and Washington, D.C., Bartaco has now ventured into Coconut Grove, marking its 29th establishment and serving as a flagship for the brand in South Florida.
Drawing inspiration from the beach cultures of Brazil, Uruguay, and Southern California, Bartaco brings upscale street food with a coastal vibe to the Miami dining scene. The two-story property seamlessly integrates into the neighborhood, offering a unique experience for both locals and visitors alike.
The flagship Miami location is a testament to the city's character and history, housed within a building dating back to 1973. Its decor highlights a vibrant green and white color palette, preserving Art Deco-style details that reflect the city's heritage. The expansive eatery spans two interior levels, with a wraparound second floor enveloping a magnificent light-filled atrium.
What sets Bartaco apart is its commitment to not only crafting delicious food but also creating an atmosphere that reflects its beachy inspiration. The walls are adorned with artwork and photos by Sasa Mahr-Batuz, one of the original founders of Bartaco. Arched stucco walls, gleaming concrete floors embedded with green Seaglass fragments, vintage pendant lights, and a lush live plant garden further enhance the restaurant's unique charm.
But the heart of Bartaco lies in its scratch-made menu, drawing inspiration from coastal beach bars and flavors found in South America, Mexico City, and Southern California. Guest favorites include the duck birria, pork belly, and baja fish tacos, each bursting with bold flavors that transport diners to the sun-soaked shores.
What's more, Bartaco has taken a bold step to ensure that everyone can savor its flavors by offering an inherently gluten-free menu. From tacos to rice bowls and salads, every dish is meticulously crafted to delight the palate of every guest. Signature dishes like chicken tortilla soup and the tuna tatako, presented in a crisp Bibb lettuce wrap, are culinary masterpieces that cater to diverse tastes.
