November 9, 2022The 10th Annual South Beach Seafood Festival returned to Miami this past weekend on the sands of South Beach.
Seafood's favorite festival showed all eventgoers exactly why it is such a hot ticket. Straying from tradition, SOBESFF is a curated showcase of the best talents of South Florida’s leading chefs and culinary masterminds. Guests experience the best seafood in Miami and celebrate the launch of the region's world-renowned stone crab season. The perfect send-off. All to benefit a great cause in Miami Dade County with CI Foundation’s EAT SMART program, which provides healthy meals and nutritional guidance to Florida’s youth with programs in Miami Dade County public schools.
Annually, produced by CI Management, and brought to you by Breakthru Beverage and partners this event is praised by USA TODAY as one of its Top 5 Specialty Festivals in the country, listed by Forbes in 2019 as one of the Top 5 things to do this fall, and by the Travel Channel as the best seafood festival in the US.
Historically, October in Miami has been known as the epicenter for Hurricanes. However, over the last 10 years, SOBESFF has made strives to ensure the Festival takes the city by storm instead. When you hit Miami in October, the South Beach Seafood Festival is the place to be for four days of fun, and what a treat it was.
The 10th anniversary was a success surrounded by entertainment for all seafood lovers. This year’s highlights included feature all day music with DJs at the Pacifico Beach Club, Sun Sips by High Noon, and VIP area at the Goya Culinary Pavilion.
Brought to you by Herradura Tequila, Saturday’s beachfront seafood festival, hosted by the City of Miami Beach, spanned four blocks of delicious bites, tantalizing cocktails, and an incredible ambiance. A true seafoodie's paradise.
The school of over 15,000 seafood lovers made their voyage to South Beach all in an effort to enjoy a day full of fun in the Sun and what a day it was. Indulging in hand-selected pop-up cafes from Miami’s best restaurants with the freshest seafood menu items to choose from, paired with 30+ complimentary open bars for 21 and over, fun and games, culinary demos in the Milam’s Markets Culinary Showcase, Rockwell DJs, 3 Live Music Stages, right on the sensational sands of South Beach!
Saturday served as an ample opportunity to indulge seafood sensations from over two dozen of SoFlas’s hottest restaurants and top Chefs. My personal favorites included:
- Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, CJ’s Crab Shack, Mau Miami, Meat N’ Bone, Pubbelly Sushi, Red The Steakhouse, Smashburger, and The Wagyu Bar by Meat N’ Bone
A seafood event like no other, South Beach Seafood Festival included a week of nightly culinary events leading up to the Saturday finale. including:
Wednesday’s unforgettable Evening at Joe’s, featuring epicurean masterpieces from historic Miami seafood restaurant, Joe’s Stone Crab. This incredibly exclusive event hosts 50 VIPs in Jesse’s Room, the famous private space where greats like Al Capone and Frank Sinatra cracked claws.
Thursday’s Crabs Slabs & Cabs, Friday’s incredible VIP Chef Showdown was the ultimate night of competition where the best South Beach chefs hit the sand for an epic throw-down beach bash. 20 chefs. 10 battles. 1 1/2 blocks are serious culinary celebrations on the sands. Sounds by Yissel topped off the night’s entertainment. Where eventgoers had the opportunity to taste every seafood dish and each was able to choose their champ.
Saturday's VIP Guests also were able to enjoy exclusive access to their own private 2-block VIP village, where they took a break from the sun under the cover of the GOYA VIP Culinary Pavilion, and enjoy exclusive tastings from GOYA’s Executive Chef, along with a dozen of the area’s top-notch restaurants and chefs. And, of course, ample liquid libations including interactive experiences from Jack Daniels, Herradura, and my personal favorite, specialty wine tastings from Master of Wines.
On behalf of all Digest Miami readers, we would like to congratulate The South Beach Seafood Festival organizers and attendees for 10 years of amazing memories. We are already looking forward to the next decade! Thank you to the city of Miami Beach, Herradura, CI Management, and Breakthru Beverage and partners for hosting such a wonderful event.
